Blog Candy Received

Hi everyone,

Look what I got in the mail!!! I love getting mail like this, I feel like it's my Birthday. LOL This first package was from Paper Secrets and OOOOOoooooo I am a kid in a candy store with Prima and Webster stuff. I know something is really wrong with this crazy lady!!! lol I love the different ribbons that I got with this, as I horid ribbon and sometime have to force myself to use it. Sick I know!!! The flowers are going to be great to use my Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels on to make some colors of my own. The 6x6 paper stack is killing me as now I want to go and get them all in the 12x12 size to make layouts with. Talk about EMABLING!!! The jewel flourishes are so beautiful and elegant, I already have a layout in mind for these. The velvet letters I am still trying to figure what to use them on, to many ideas in the head at this time. But this is so YUMMY!!!

This package is from Maya Roads and Oooo am I going to have some fun. MORE RIBBON!!!! YEAH!!! Really, the men in white coats are going to be coming for me one of these days. lol I have never tried Glimmer Mist by Maya Roads, but the Red looks fantastic, so you know one of those flowers from the Paper Secrets package will be done with this. He he!!! The journal cards are Alpha words and will be great on layout for a journaling box with something inspirational for the layout. Now the Star pins are totally new for me and I am going to have to do some major thinking on what I am going to do with them. I will be blog hopping around to see what others have done with them.

Well anyways, I think this was just a fantastic day. Love the postman when he bring these great goodies.

Cartridge Storage Solution

Hi everyone,

I have had many questions about the new Cartridge Cases that I purchased. They are fantastic and take up less room than what I was using before. See the post below this one for more information and pictures.

I purchased these from http://www.memorymiser.com/ for $27.99 each. Because I purchased 3 and was over $50, I received free shipping on this order. I here that http://www.ohmycrafts.com/  has these for $24.99, but I believe to get free shipping you have to spend $100. These cases are made of leather and very sturdy and well put together. Well worth the monies I spend.

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday.

New Mini Cricut Cartridge Storage

Hi all,

I finally got some Mini Cartridge holders in the mail. OOOOOoooo, so happy that these got here. I have 35 Mini Cartridges and this was how I was what I was storing them in. These are nice, but had to open them and search through them to find the Cartridge I wanted. NOT fun!!!

Well this is what showed up in my mail. Oooo and the smell of leather is so good. I know a little bit crazy, but really do love the smell of new leather. I received 3 of these in the mail, each holds 12 Cartridges, booklets, and overlays.

They are easy to put the Cartridges, booklets and overlays into and very easy to see which Cartridges you have in the binders. I put mine in Alpha order and will be labeling them with a label that can change as my Cartridges expand. I will be getting more of these, as they take up 1/2 the space of the plastic containers that I was using before.

Here is a view of the last binder, with one space left for another Cartridge. Which I know I will be getting more.

This is what all three of them open look like. Nice, neat and in Alpha order. I can't ask for an easier way for me to store these.

Well wish you all a fantastic weekend and a great night.

Now, I need to tell you three things that make me different from everyone else. Wow, this is hard.

1. Well, I was married in Reno, NV at the Starlight Chapel. It is no longer in the location that it was when we were married. It is now a parking lot for the Reno Court House.

2. I am a frog lover and have been since I was very small. Both my bathrooms in my house are frog themed.

3. I love the rain over the ocean. I use to sit on the edge of the dock when a kid and wait till that first drop hit me, just watching the clouds and rain coming towards me. It was and still is a fantastic sight.

Now, I hvae to give this award to 5 other deserving bloggers. Here they are:

Sweet Mail today

Well what a sweet surprize to come home to. Not one, but two Yummy blog candy packages!!! YEAH!!!

This first one is from Maya Road and what a nice package this was to receive. I am already hiding the ribbon from my daughter as she loves this stuff. lol

A wonderful thank you for this package!

This package is from Paper Secrets and WOW!!! I love Webster and Prima and this was full of it. Talk about being in hog heaven, well I feel that way. I know the southern girl in me still pops out every once in a while. lol  I had to take the picture fast on this one or it would have been swooped up so fast by my little one that I wouldn't have even seen her coming. She is a Bling and Ribbon girl, not like her mother at all. Ha is that a hog tailed lie. lol

Well thank you so very much to Paper Secrets for this wonderful package.

I will be enjoying these ribbons for sure when the my little Octopus isn't around to snatch and run. I will say that as bad as my day was going, this really did make my day worth it in more ways that I can even begin to count.

Thank you both Maya Road and Paper Secrets, your packages will be put to good use.

Up coming Blog Hops

Hi all,

I am hosting 2 blog hops coming up the 1st weekend in February. We have some wonderful and talented people who are doing fantastic projects to show for these hops.

The first hop is on Saturday, February 5th and it is a "Think Spring" themed hop. So the project will be about Spring, this should help to get us all in the mood for Spring to hurry up and get here. As some of you have been really pounded with the snow this year.

The second hop is on Sunday, February 6th and  is a Super Bowl  "Sports Mania" themed hop. So the projects will be related around the sports theme. This will help some of us who are not really into the Super Bowl have more creative things to watch.

I will be giving away a brand new in the pastic Cricut cartridge. Not sure of the cartridge I am giving away as of yet, but there will be one. To win the cartridge, you will have to become a follower and leave a comment on blog days hops, so one comment on "Think Spring" post and one comment on "Sports Mania" post. I promise it will be a full cartridge an not a mini or lite cartridge.

So mark your calendars and make sure you hop over on February 5th and 6th for lots of creative ideas and blog candy.

Normal at my house

Well as normal as can be expected. Little one is almost totally better, still coughs, but not like before. The weather is also helping being that it is nice and sunny out here and the air is not to cold. It actually feels like Spring has sprung here in Central California.

I did alot of unmounting of wood stamps this weekend and mounting on the foam so I can use them on acrylic blocks and also save space. Well with all my stamps, clear and old wood mounts, I have 7 Scrapcessories Stamp Caddy Cases and three 3" D-Ring binders full of my stamps. Didn't realize I had so many. YIKES!!! Well now it is time to make a Book of Stamped Images I own. I have the Your Story, so I am going to give it a try. I am also thinking about doing one for my Cuttlebug Embossing Folders as well. So many things I want to do and so little time.

Well, off to try and figure out my new Book of Stamped Images. Hope you all have a blessed day.

Little One is Finally Feeling Better

Oh my gosh!!! I can finally say that my little one is finally getting better. Her Asthma is finally getting under control. She is still in the Yellow zone on her flow meter, but getting closer to the Green zone everyday. This poor kid was out of school all last week due to high temps and a bactierial infection, then her Asthma kicks in and she is just so tired of all of this garbage. But it was so nice to have her come up to me and say "Mom, I am finally starting to feel better". It breaks my heart to see such a young one have to go through what she has. I wish there was some way to take all of it away and take it on myself. The good thing is she is strong minded and she knows that she will get better totally. I am just praying that tonight it will be a quite (no coughing) night. For the last hour and half she has been very quite, so I am really praying she can get some well deserved rest.

Thank you to all of you for your well wishes. My little one got to read them this evening before going to bed and she actually said "she hoped to have such nice friends when she was older". She is a pistol, but with a heart of gold. I am blessed and could not ask for more.

Good night all and may your blessing be a wonderful as mine.

WINNER!!!! The "I Have A Dream" Blog Hop Candy

So the winner of this hop was drawn from a bag by my little one as she felt kinda left out with not being the one to draw the names. It is more work, but she likes it so, it is well worth the little pieces of folded paper with names on it. LOL

So the winner she drew is:

VinDeeLoo
Congratulations VinDeeLoo. I will be emailing you soon.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments and especially for my attempt at a card. LOL

Hope you all are having a great week.

Hello all,

so sorry that this post is so late. I have been dealing with Doctors all day and finally ended up at the hospital with my little one again. Her Asthma is just out of control!!! They finally put her on Predizod (excuse the spelling, I am to tired to go get the stuff), which is a steroid (not to happy about that, but if it works. YEAH) that she will take for 5 days. So maybe my life will return to normal (well normal in my house. lol).

So on to my project:

This is another of my attempts at making a card. I am not a real good card maker, as I like room to design and play. I know need to learn to work in smaller spaces. Well this card is for a very special person who is a Flamigo lover. I also kept with the Dream theme of the blog hop, so I hope that it is at least a good try for a scrapbooker.

The papers used were all from stock that I had on hand and most from scraps (so really proud of myself for that). So not sure of the manufacturers, but they are all textured cardstock except for the orange layer of the Flamingo. The ribbon is from CTMH and the color is Shell Pink.

Pardon the lines that are showing up on this picture, they are not there at this time, but I was borrowing a camera and needed to get it back and forgot to remove them when I took the pics. The cartridges I use are Lacy Labels for the Card Base and lining. This was done in Design Studio and welded together. The size was at 5". The Flourishes on the front of the card were from Serenade and were cut at .689" in the Design Studio. The Flamingo is also from Serenade cut at 3.5". The lettering was from Winter Woodland and were cut at .5" and welded together in Design Studio.

Well I hope you all like my effort to make a card for a change. Also a huge thank you to all of you for your wonderful and kind comments.

Post #2 "I Have A Dream" Blog Hop

Hi,

Here is my 2nd project for the Martin Luther King Jr's "I have a Dream" blog hop. You should have gotten here from Monique at Unique Monique. If you have just arrived here by accident, please do go back to the beginning to Karelj at One By One The Flamingos Are Stealing My Sanity to link to all the creative projects available.

This project was inspired by a little something that me and my daughter use to always do before bed time. We would start with a prayer, then we would give each other Butterfly Kisses and I would tuck her in bed. Well before walking out the door each night I would say have wonderful Butterfly Dreams. Well this hop made me remember those times and this is where this  two page layout came from.

"May All Your Butterfly Dreams Come True"

Here are the cartridges that I used:

Rock Princess - Butterflies on bottom of both pages were at 3"
Home Accent - Butterflies on top of both pages were at  5"
Ashlyn's Alphabet - Scalloped Frames at 7"
Lettering at 1" (welded together in Design Studio)

BLOG CANDY:  Ok, as promised here is the blog candy for this weekends blog hop. You will need to be a follower and leave a comment on yesterdays post, todays post, and tomorrows. The winner will be done by Random.org. and posted here.

"I have a DREAM" Blog Hop

Welcome to the celebration of Martin Luther Kings "I have a DREAM" blog hop. If you are here from http://uniquemonique01.blogspot.com/ then you are in the right spot. If not be sure to head over to http://karelj.blogspot.com to follow all the blogers and see all the fantastic creations that everyone has created.

Oh, I do have blog candy available, but will not let it be known until Monday the 17th, of January. I might surprize everyone and have some more projects for this hop. So check back and make sure you are a follower and leave a comment on at least 1 of the project post. There is a possibility of 3 more projects.

Ok, here is my project. And yes this is an older paper line, so not sure of the manufacture (it isn't marked anywhere). It is one of my New Years Resolutions to use the paper I have in stock and try not to buy anything new. We will see if I can make it at least 3 months. lol  I would hope to make the resolution last through the full year, but that is asking way to much of me.

I will say that this theme has been a challenge for me. I was sitting in the Dr's office and the hospital several times this week playing with my Gypsy and designing all sorts of things for this hop. Most of them I trashed, but kept a few.

Home with sick child

Ok, the little one is sick and this is the pits. Took her to Dr. on Monday, they say she has the flu. Fine I will deal with it. Tuesday her Asthma kicks in and her fever spikes, call and they want to see her again. So went again today. UGH!!! They say to up her inhaler and increase the times I give her Tyonol. Then her Pedi comes in and asked how long has this rash/blisters been on her lower face. Since Tuesday I told him, well at that moment my little decided to heave and the poor Dr got a nice bath. I was so embarressed. Well the rash/blisters are spreading and she is now itching all over, so an appt tomorrow with a specialist. Am I tired of going to the Dr's already. I know that it isn't thier fault, but I have gone to one clinc on Monday, another site on Wednesday and now I am having to drive 30 minutes to the main hospital to see a specialist. Am I just a little concerned? YES!!! I know that I am one of these moms that takes thier child in more than most, but that is due to watching my little turn BLUE several years ago and I swore never would I wait if I was concerned. I am very lucky I have a very low co-pay for her to visit the Dr. or even go to the hospital, which with this one it is more than I personally wish I went. The Dr's in the emergency room know my little one and me by name (that is 1st basis). It is really sad.

Anyways, that has been my week so far. So I will get off my soap box and pray that tomorrow is a more informative day.

I want to personally appologize for making a mistake on one of the attendies to my blog hop today. I also want to ask all of you to please go by her blog and look at the wonderful Banner she made for the hop. I made a mistake in typing up the link for her blog and had her pulled this afternoon thinking that she didn't post. I pulled her to make sure that the link from one blog to the next went smoothly, not knowing that I had the wrong blog address. I do promise that in the future, I will have email addresses of all the participants in my hops, so that I have a way to get a hold of them quickly and more effiently.

My deepest appologies to you Cassie.

Be My Valentine Blog Hop

Hi,

There will be a blog hop on Saturday, January 8th, 2011

Come join the fun. It will start here and we have some really crafty bloggers.

Thank you

I want to say Thank You Very Much to all of you who have commented on my blog over the last several months. It has made me feel better about my work. I am a person who has never been really happy with anything I ever have made. I just always make due in the end. One of my friends says that I am a perfectionist. I guess I am in some way. But I will say that I feel that I have been really uplifted that others feel that my work is good.

One of my major resolutions is to try not to be so critical of my creative projects. I know that this is going to be one of the most difficult resolutions that I have, but all of you have made me more motivated to succeed. Yes, there are a couple of other resolutions, but they are not anything as hard as this one. I need to loose 20 pounds, spend more time with my little girl and to make more time to craft. So you see the hard one will be to stop being so critical of my own work.

Well I hope everyone of you had a wonderful and safe New Year.

Happy New Year Blog Hop

Hope you are having a very Happy New Year. If you are here for the blog hop you are in the right place. You should have gotten here from http://deannaspapercrafts.blogspot.com/ , if you didn't come from Deanna's blog then please feel free to go to Yolanda's blog at http://craftyscentiments.blogspot.com/  to see all the crafty blogs in this hop.

I am giving away a Cricut Sampler cartridge it has never been used and is able to be loaded to your Gypsy if you win it. It is not in packaging, but that is the way it came to me from the store I ordered it on. All you have to do to be put in the drawing is to become a follower and leave a comment. I will be doing the drawing at Random.com. Good luck to everyone.

For my project I used my new Cricut Imagine, with the Snow Angels cartridges. I am still learning to use the Imagine and hope to get better soon.

Sorry the pictures are not the best. Not sure what I am doing wrong with my camera. The 2 Snowperson and the little girl were all done 4 inch. The background paper was done with the Bonus cuts/prints on the Snow Angels cartridge and cut at max which is 10.5x10.5. The background paper is CTMH cardstock, not sure of the color, but do know that it is at least from 5 years ago.

Still couldn't get the picture any clearer. I used a EK Sucess Border Punch with a EK Sucess Corner Punch around all the edges without cutting the edge all the way off.

The Snowflakes, Sled, and the Let it Snow embellishments are all Essentials from Walmart. I used foam adhesive on the Snow People, the Girl, Snowflakes and the 3 Let it Snow titles.

Here is a list of all the participants in this hop.
